Prayer Request!!

Please pray for Tanya! She hit a bump on her road to recovery. Part of one of her lungs collapsed and she had to be put back on the vent. They also had to re place a chest tube to drain some fluid from her lungs. She is strong but could use some positive thoughts and prayers sent her way! Keep your chin up T.... I am praying that this is just a lil bump and you will be back on your way outta the joint in no time!

Update on Tanya

She is doing amazing!! She stood for a bit today and the camera that went down into her new breathers showed how beautiful they looked. Please pray she gets some rest tonight and tomorrow they are hoping to take her off the vent. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers keep them coming so she can have a speedy recovery and bust out of the joint!

She is staying strong!

Please keep Tanya and her family in your prayers for a speedy recovery!!

Tanya had a rough night, she is a little down today. She will not be taken of vent today. They want to see how her lungs are doing first. They do that by putting a small camera down the ventilator tube.

She has been taken off some of the medications. They are having a little trouble regulating her blood pressure but we are told that is normal because the body is fighting against the tube for the ventilator and the tremendous shock to her little body.

A Dogs Purpose

  A Dog's  Purpose (from a  6-year-old)

Being a veterinarian, I had been  called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named  Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife, Lisa, and their  little boy, Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and  they were hoping for a  miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was  dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything  for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure  for the old dog in their  home.

As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa  told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane  to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might  learn something from the  experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar  catch in my throat as Belker's family surrounded him. Shane  seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that  I wondered if he understood what was going  on.

Within a few minutes, Belker slipped  peacefully away.

The little boy seemed to accept  Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We  sat together for a while after Belker's death, wondering  aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than  human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped  up, 'I know why.'  Startled, we all turned to him. What came out  of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more  comforting  explanation.

He said, 'People are born so  that they can learn how to live a good life -- like loving  everybody all the time and being nice, right?' The  six-year-old continued, 'Well, dogs already know how to do  that, so they don't have to stay as long.'

Live simply.  Love  generously..
 Care deeply.  Speak  kindly.

Remember, if a dog was the  teacher you would learn things  like:

When loved ones come home,  always run to greet  them.

Never pass up the opportunity  to go for a  joyride.

Allow the experience of fresh  air and the wind in your face to be pure  ecstasy.

Take  naps.

Stretch before  rising.

Run, romp, and play  daily.

Thrive on attention and let  people touch  you.

Avoid biting when a  simple growl will  do.

On warm days, stop to lie on  your back on the  grass.

On hot days, drink lots of  water and lie under a shady  tree.

When you're happy, dance around  and wag your entire  body.

Delight in the simple joy of a  long walk.

Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.  Stop when you have had enough.

Be  loyal.

Never pretend to be something  you're not.

If what you want lies  buried, dig until you find  it.

When someone is having a bad  day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them  gently.

Pugs and Makena had a playdate

The pugs were so excited to have their cousin Makena come over they played ball outside and ran around the house with all their toys all over the place. That is Makenas favorite thing to do when she comes over to Aunt Somer's she takes all the babies toys out, she doesn't know that they really only just like their little soccer ball. I think all 3 of them had a great time!

Read Lissa's book is a website started by the publisher Harper Collins to find new writers. A community of readers and writers chooses to "back" their favorite books, and the top five books each month will be read by an editor at HarperCollins.  For those of you who don't know, My talented friend Lissa who makes those amazing LOVE TO BREATHE necklaces has also written a book about her mother's mental illness, her chronic pain condition, and of course her cute baby girl Rosie.  She has uploaded her book on the site in hopes of making it into the top five.

You can find her book at

You have to sign up to support her book, but it's free and only takes a minute.  If you choose to, you can "back the book" and even read it if your are so inclined.  This will help her ranking so she can get into the top five someday!

I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have!!
