Not an Expert

Ok so I have been making cupcakes lately and to make cupcakes you have to buy eggs. Well I don't usually buy eggs, and I don't have any plans to make any more cupcakes for a while. So, I made a nice breakfast for the babies yesterday and scrambled one for each of them. I still had some left over so I thought I would hard boil the rest of them for Easter.

Well I had to video tape it... Is that sound normal? It sounded like my eggs were going to hatch. I think it was just the air trapped in the eggs because I saw lots of bubbles when I first put them in the water, but really they should make some other type of noise. I had to stop the boiling process..... So now I have hard soft boiled eggs.

Crazy Right!!!! It brings a whole new meaning to which came first the chicken or the egg :) It sounded like they were all chirping for help! I am scarred for life!!

LOL. Since my hearing is not the greatest, I couldn't really hear anything, but I will tell you how to make the perfect boiled eggs. A friend of mine taught me many Easters ago....

Let the eggs get to a rolling boil, then put a lid on the pot and turn the burner off. Keep the pot on the hot burner though. Set the timer for 15 minutes, then rinse them with cold water. You have perfectly boiled eggs!! :)

That is crazy! I have never heard that before and I definitely have boiled quite a few eggs in my lifetime. A little eerie.

I just read your post about the coughing up blood episode. I am sorry, that is always very scary, especially when it doesnt seem to be stopping. Have you done PFTS again or do they not think you need to? HOpe all is well now and you are feeling much better. Coughing up blood always wipes me out for a day.

LOL! Christy had the right recipie. Put the eggs in covered by an inch of water. When it starts to boil (not a hard boil), pull them off the burner (onto another burner that is not on is fine) Put on the lid...let them sit for 14-18 mins. Depending on the egg size. Also, since we live in higher (especially YOU) altitudes, and dry climates...I find things take longer.

This is...IF you decide to make hard boiled eggs again!
