Madonna!!

It is so great to see so many amazing people and celebrities support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with the #TakeABreathForCF campaign to raise funds and awareness for CF!! Of course there is only ONE celebrity that makes my world go round..... the ONE and ONLY Madonna. Madonna make my birthday one to remember and Take a Breath for CF! 

I sent Madonna this video back in 2015 when she did a question and answer on Instagram.

I had 15 sec or less to record this video and ask her anything....So much pressure!!!  So, naturally I asked her something I think is very important and near and dear to my heart. She didn't answer my question.... maybe because there were thousands of other videos to scroll through. Perhaps maybe she even skipped it because the answer is more than likely yes, or maybe because it's something most people don't even really think twice about since it usually comes with such ease. But if you really truly think about each and every breath you take, I promise you, you will treat each breath as a gift... and you will Love to Breathe®. 

May is Cystic Fibrosis Month and it just so happens to be my bday month....I can't believe I am 37, May really is A•MAY•ZING!! 

So for the rest of this month I challenge you to really think about every breath you take... What would your answer to my question be? I mean, I know it would probably be yes... but if you really think about it, I'm pretty sure it's more than just a yes or no question. We All Have Fears...

"It's better to live one year as a tiger, than 100 years as a sheep"-Madonna  

Its easy to be a sheep when faced with fear. Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat... CF is fear. 

I try to live my life as a tiger. This is not always easy, especially since you never know when CF will strike. Living with fear lurking over you can be daunting at times. However, I try not to let fear decide my fate.... If you can become fearless, your life can be limitless.

We all have fears, our fears help develop our courage... It might not feel like it but our fears make us stronger. The trick is learning how to rise up and be bigger than your fears and show them you are brave and strong. It's important to remember courage doesn't always have to roar. At the end of the day courage can be that quiet voice that says, 'it's ok we can try this again tomorrow.' The important thing is that you keep trying and you never give up. 

You have this one life... so keep living it. Make yourself proud by stepping out of your comfort zone and conquering your fears one day at a time. Breathe deep, and live your life like a tiger!

You Have To At Least Try

Today marks 11 weeks on the full dose of Orkambi (update coming soon). I was reminded of this post I wrote exactly one year ago today. Re reading this post has even more meaning today as it did one year ago. My thoughts are still very much the same. We are not obligated to do anything we don't want to do, but why would we not try to better ourselves or others around us simply because we can? I'm grateful for my struggles without them I wouldn't have found my strengths... Trust your story.

I scrolled by a quote yesterday, I have read it over and over again... For some reason it really resonated with me and at the same time it really rubbed me the wrong way. The quote is... 

"You are not obligated to do everything a healthy person does. You are not obligated to be an inspiration. You are not obligated to hide your illness in order to make other people comfortable. You are allowed to know your limits. You are allowed to have bad days. You are allowed to stay in bed if you can't get up to do anything but go to the bathroom. It is not your fault if other people leave you for your illness. It is not your fault you are sick. You don't have to apologize for something that is out of your control."-Unknown                                            

Everything about this quote is true... I have even had some of these thoughts and for a split second I will think about it, but I wouldn't give them any more thought than that. I am sure I will have some of these thoughts in the future, and maybe even one today. I will not hide my illness but I will always tell you I am fine, this is not to make others comfortable but to make myself comfortable.... Why dwell on bad thoughts or negative energy when I can guarantee you it could always be worse. I know I was given this life because I am strong enough to live it. 

So yes I AM obligated to TRY and do everything a healthy person does. I WANT to be an inspiration. I do know my limits and I FIGHT to surpass them every day. Everyone has limits everyone should try and learn and grow and become stronger from them. Of course I'm allowed to have bad days and believe me I do. In fact everyone is allowed to have bad days, I promise you tho on your worst day there will always, always, be good. 

Having a disability doesn't give you a free pass to be mean, lazy, or rude. In fact it should make you more humble, sincere and more compassionate, it gives you a understanding and a drive to BE and to DO and of course LOVE more. I will never apologize for my CF it's made me who I am and for that I am so very grateful. If someone has a issue with your disability it is clearly just that, their issue. 

So today I will BE me and I will DO my very best. I will LOVE more and I will hold my head up high, smile, and fight.... I will continue to be strong and I will sing!!! I will sing so loud, and maybe even do a lil dance and you better believe it will be to a Madonna song!!! Breathe out Love! Xo

Happy 30high5 1/2

Happy 1/2 bday to me.... 30high5 1/2  woop woop!! 

Wow well those last 6 months sure flew right on by!! Of course I celebrate my half.... Don't laugh!!! Ha Ha ;) 35 1/2 Madonna knows what's up!! Right Madonna?! ;) 

Everyone should celebrate their 1/2 Bday! Be proud of your age!! Growing old is a privilege, denied by way too many!!

Holiday Oil

Huge shout out to Holiday Oil and to all my Utah peeps who bought dollar pin ups. We went and spoke to all the awesome managers this morning and we were able to pick up a check for drum roll... 

$18,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. 

That's so amazing!! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you...from the bottom of my heart!! 

Woop woop. 

"Holiday... Celebrate" 😉 I told them today they really should consider that being their theme song. 

So exciting! We are one step closer to that sought after cure!!

Madonna!!! Im Completely Blown Away!

A day later and I am still in awe... Im completely blown away. 

Most of you know I'm a pretty BIG Madonna fan. Well a couple years ago I saw a photo of Madonna on the internet wearing a shirt with the number 35 on it. So I thought I better tuck it away for when I turned 35. Two weeks ago I turned 35 which is a blessing in itself... so for the 30high5 I took that photo and "Somerized" it, adding "Somer is" on top of the 35. I posted it on Instagram and said that even Madonna wanted to make sure my bday was Madgical, just being funny.  

Well yesterday I was scrolling through the gram and she had posted it on her instagram.... WHAT?!?! So nuts!! I still can't quite believe it. I was and still am on cloud 9!! Nearly 60,000 people have seen that photo. I'm completely blown away. The perfect belated birthday present. Thank you Madonna! It was a very Happy 30high5!!! 

A Lil Spring Cleaning

Holy Cow I can't believe it's been over a month since I have posted on here. Can you say Slacker!!! Sorry Blog Land!

Well after a great run (17 months) I was admitted into the joint, the theme was "SPRING".

As you can remember I am thippless so it definitely made this stay a lil interesting. Let's just say at the end of the 2 weeks I was missing my Thipple (portacath). I thought maybe just maybe my arm veins would of had a chance to heal on their nice 7 year break of no piccs. I was banking on just getting a Picc, but no such luck.  My veins are horrible and I am not quite ready yet to get something permanent again. So I felt like I was 8 again as I went with peripheral IV's the whole time. Total stay 5 pokes and 4 IV's total, not to bad!

The Fam came up Riv and Makena had a blast on my bed going up and down, They loved the large elevator and the revolving door too. It was better than Disneyland I think they said ;)

My IV bag that goes everywhere with me connected to it 24/7 my fancy arm bracelet and my lil reminder that Astra was watching out for me. Between her and Tiff I was taken care of I was in the last room Tiff was in Im sure she planned that. I am glad she didn't pull any funny Business... considering I was there for April Fool's ;)

The day I got home left Fake spring to Real Spring! 

Its amazing how you can do nothing for 2 weeks but yet you get home you are so exhausted. This  makes the transition from joint life to real life a bit overwhelming. Hopefully I can go another 17 months or so before I have to do it again.

Thank you everyone that made this stay a great one.... my fabulous Docs, my amazing nurses, The best  family and friends EVER you guys are ALL AMAZING!!! Thank you! Xo

Madonna ROCKED it!!!

Seriously?!??!?! SO amazing!!!! I was screaming, squealing, singing, dancing, peeing in my pants, and coughing with excitement!!!! She was amazing!!! She rocked it!!! NO one and I repeat NO ONE will ever top that performance!

I have watched it over and over again thank goodness for Tivo!! I am still on a serious Madonna high! I can't wait for her tour!!! I hope you all enjoyed it too! L-U-V Madonna Y-O-U  you wanna!!!! Xo

The groundhog doesn't know!

So today is groundhog day.... Um can a groundhog even really see? 

I think this year global warming trumps the groundhog.... just sayin, Sorry Phil

So apparently he, I think his name is Phil saw his shadow and we have 6 more weeks of winter. Well coming from snow country and considering we haven't had any snow, well I'll take it. But come the triple triple in May if there is snow on the ground I will not be to happy. For all those wondering what Triple Triple it's the theme of my next Birthday. I had my Double Double when I turned 22 and well double numbers only happens every 11 years so it's definitely worth celebrating. Who am I kidding every day is worth celebrating... even today, Groundhog day!!

So Happy day to ALL of you!! Get out there and celebrate BIG!!!

Just in case you didn't notice 3 days in a row on here!! Yep, I am patting myself on the back. I'll be back tomorrow too, BIG weekend in store HUGE!!!!!! Lets just say it'll be Madgical ;)

Another great bday!!!! The 31derful was definitely 1derful!

I woke up at 6am it was very early but I wanted to enjoy the whole day... the babies definitely take after me they are not early risers this is them at 6 am not very happy. I got home from coffee around 11 and they were just getting up. I just love them!

I met some friends for coffee at 9 and when I came home I found mylar balloons all over my house and yard. It was a very fun surprise from my Dad. I only got a couple shots but you get the idea.

Always at 3 on my bday my parents and I go to coffee... I started this tradition about 6 or 7 years ago. We always have a great time.

Makena made me a special bracelet... with my name on it and an assortment of colored beads. I made her one too its are BFF bracelets. I wear it daily along with these other ones that I never take off. The first one says "Love the Life you Live" The second one says "nothing is worth more than this day" then the third one is my cross I got for my bday last year from some friends and the fourth one is my BCF bracelet with Shar, which by the way she gave me quite the tribute on her blog, read that post here. Shar I was truly honored to read this, you are an AMAZING BCF! The Fifth one says Health and then the sixth one is the masterpiece that Makena made.

These were the balloons on top of my cake that my mom got me it was a princess Nothing Bundt Cake they are so yummy my favorite is the red velvet which is what my mom got me. YUMMM!! I didn't get any pics of it so I will have to wait to see if anyone else did.

Flowers from Josh & Cath were on my door step when I got home from coffee with my parents.

After coffee with my parents I went to din later on with the fam at one of my favorite places the Porcupine. It was so much fun to just be surrounded by so much love. I am honestly blessed beyond measure. I have the best family and friends in the world! Thank you to everyone who made my bday SO VERY special! I will have to share more highlights as I download the pics.

I can't believe today is June 1st so crazy!

WHAT WOULD MADONNA DO?

Did you watch Glee last night? It was ABSOLUTELY MADGICAL!!!!! I loved it if you missed it... Well you missed out, you should watch it on demand or online. Glee is a good lil show I have never seen it before. Might have to start watching it. Their Madonna tribute was class act!

YAY!!! It's finally here Madonna's Sticky and Sweet Tour Dvd and Cd is in stores today I am headed out to go get mine! I highly recommend everyone getting this. Seems like just yesterday I was watching it live in San Diego. It was AMAZING!!!
