Not a fan

of Garlic....

I never eat it.

I can't stand the smell or the taste!

However while pulling out all the stops trying to get rid of my cold/sinus whatever I have. I started taking a garlic supplement it's 650 mg once a day. It acts as a natural antibiotic that you never build resistance to, so I am giving it a go. They used it back in the day to cure everything from the common cold to the plague. So far I think it is doing some great things I'm not sure yet, but my mucus seems thinner and my cold/sinus thing is well on its way out the door. If not gone completely just don't want to jinx myself.

Since I am not a fan of garlic and I hardly ever consume it my body is probably not use to it which might make it work that much better? Kind of like when you haven't been on IV antibiotics in a long time and then you get on them and bam, they are instantly working their magic.

I have TOBI voice... Sexy? Manly? everyone has their different take ;)

Does anyone else take garlic pills?

I've been taking garlic daily for about a month now. I heard SO MANY good things about it, but was reluctant to start it because, as we all know, it can be a bit SMELLY. I've been feeling really great lately! Not sure if it's the garlic or some of the other things I've been doing for my immune system, but either way, I don't plan on stopping anytime soon!

I've been taking garlic pills for a while to. A friend of mine takes them for a cold and got me started but the ones I take are garlic and cayenne. I can definitely tell a difference myself.

Somer, I've been taking the odorless blend as well and I haven't noticed any nasty burps or breath, either.
I really like Misha's idea about the garlic/cayenne supplement.

Sorry to hear that you've been under the weather, but hopefully the garlic will clear it up! I've actually had it in my basket at GNC a few times and then put it back in the shelf b/c I wanted to do more research. I think I'll jump on the garlic bandwagon! :)

No garlic pills, but I do have it with my food quite a bit since I eat a lot of Italian food. My wife does not find me kissable when I come in contact with garlic, so that is a downside. :-(

hey somer, how long have you been taking garlic pills for? i have often thought about adding that to the mix of stuff i am on. i have heard good things about it. i also read in my health food book that consuming 6 or more garlic clovesa a week may help reduce the risk of colorectal cancer, which us CF'ers are more at risk for since all of our bowel troubles! so i am definitly interested in looking in to taking these pills.

I prefer to chew a whole, raw piece of garlic daily (or twice daily) when feeling icky. This is much to Dustin's dismay and he has a hard time even sleeping in the same room with me cuz I stink, though I can't smell it. I only do it for a few days then I usually feel much better.

I only take it when I feel bad, but it does seem to work. We also eat a lot of it with food. Stephanie

I don't know how we are related sometimes! I live for garlic. Okay, that may be a bit extreme, but seriously, garlic goes into so many of the things that I make! Good to know it's useful in other ways though...
