Be An Angel....

A Sharlie's Angel!

Many of you may remember my post about Sharlie recieving the great news that she was accepted at Stanford to get a new heart and a new set of lungs. Well if you don't remember you can click here.

Well many of Sharlie's Angels have rallied and helped fundraise for her next BIG miracle. You can check out her fundraising page here. There have been lemonade stands, craft sites, a benefit called Air supply you can read all about those on Sharlie's blog which is titled Sharlie's Angels. I know she feels that everyone in her life is truly an angel but in reality she is our angel. We are all SO blessed and SO lucky to know her and I know she inspires many each day including myself.

I wanted to help out to in some way, so after brainstorming some ideas I came up with an idea to paint a Sharlie's Angels painting. I thought I would auction it off on my blog and all proceeds would go towards Shar's transplant. So below is a close up of the painting and a description...

This painting is titled Sharlie's Angels and it is painted with acrylic paints and on a 16x20 canvas. Here's a close up pic of it....

So the highest bidder will receive this 16x20 painting. You have until Dec 1st to bid, that way I can get it in the mail in case you want to give it as a Christmas gift. Just leave a comment or email mail me at somer@lovetobreathe.com with your bid. I will update this blog post to let you know what the bid is at every day unless the bid remains the same.

I will start the bidding at $100. Good Luck and Happy Bidding! Xo

Bid is now at $500 back to Jason. 2 min left!!!  Bidding will close tomorrow at 5pm Mountain time.

Closed~~~~~ Congrats Jason!!! Thank you for helping Sharlie with her transplant. Consider yourself one of Sharlie's new Angels :)

Update on Tanya

She is doing amazing!! She stood for a bit today and the camera that went down into her new breathers showed how beautiful they looked. Please pray she gets some rest tonight and tomorrow they are hoping to take her off the vent. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers keep them coming so she can have a speedy recovery and bust out of the joint!

She is staying strong!

Please keep Tanya and her family in your prayers for a speedy recovery!!

Tanya had a rough night, she is a little down today. She will not be taken of vent today. They want to see how her lungs are doing first. They do that by putting a small camera down the ventilator tube.

She has been taken off some of the medications. They are having a little trouble regulating her blood pressure but we are told that is normal because the body is fighting against the tube for the ventilator and the tremendous shock to her little body.

Breathing on her own with brand new lungs!

She is AMAZING!!!!!!! At 10:05 PT this evening, Sara took her first free breath with her new lungs! The Respiratory Therapist pulled out the breathing tube, she gasped and coughed and spit -- and she was on her own!

Her throat is still very sore, and she doesn't have much voice, but she's able to talk a little bit. No fluids allowed, so she's only able to have her mouth swabbed out with some sterile water to try to refresh her. And she's still in quite a bit of pain from her sutures and chest tubes (and surgery!), but is handling it all amazingly well (as any who know her would expect)!

Quick Update on My Cyster Sara

She is in ICU and doing well!!! The surgery was a success!!!

She is a fighter please still keep her in your prayers as she goes through the recovery process!! Also please remember to pray for the donor family as they go through the grieving process.

Prayer Request for my Cyster Sara

My CF Cyster Sara is currently in surgery - She received the call last night around 8:45 pm! Her and her amazing Hubby arrived at UCLA about 2:40 am and they finally separated the two of them around 5:30 am. Mike got the call from the scrub nurse that the lungs had arrived, they looked good, and they were proceeding to start the actual surgery - it was 7 am.

Mike was updated that the surgery is going very well - she went under smoothly, everything is running as expected, and they are working on getting the lungs in.The surgery will probably go til 2 pm.

Please pray that the surgery goes well and that My Cyster will have a speedy recovery! She has been waiting over 2 years and 30 days for these new lungs I am so happy that she finally got her miracle. Please also pray for the donor family as they are dealing with their loss. I am so thankful that they made the decision to donate and to give the gift of life.

Inspired!!

Okay so I decided to give this blogging thing a chance.

My good friend Terri Harbison inspires me every day thru her blog on my "super hero". So I figured I would give it a shot, I have also have found it is a great tool to communicate with family, friends and to the CF community. Last night I posted my first "Test" blog. It wasn't as bad as I was thinking. I am still trying to figure most of it out so be patient.

LOTS OF HEARTS!
