Deep Breaths!

FINALLY!!! The Air is clean! It snowed yesterday and is raining today. We are supposed to have snow and rain every day this week! I'll take it!

Yesterday I drove around with heater on high and windows rolled down, it was so nice! Last week the air was SO bad that I wouldn't even turn my heat on in the car. Brrrr!

Oh and you will All be happy to know last night I didn't watch that train wreck of a show ;) Canz let me know if psycho Michelle left :)

House arrest had me strolling down memory lane... I busted out all my home videos from my video cam I got when I was 15... They are VERY entertaining!! I especially loved the commercials and the music videos... of course all videos were Madonna songs, she would be so proud. Maybe I will have to post one later just for fun.

White fluffy crap...

Its not clouds its our air... Oh yummy! I went up to the U today to pick up my aztreonam my Ever Go is getting some good use, had to wear it just in the 20 min I was in the car.

You can see the top of the mountains but then underneath all that pollution there is the lovely city I call home...

This particular pic is taken above tall downtown buildings funny you can't even see any buildings they would be on the right hand side.

Tomorrow there is a storm pray its strong enough to blow this crap out!

Last night on the news they showed the top 5 cities with the worst air and Utah had 4 out of 5 the 5th one was Phoenix.

Still on house arrest and have a lovely O2 headache from my 20 min jaunt.

Babies are in heaven they love when I am on house arrest.

I am running out of projects... ok well not really I could always organize, clean. Don't tell anyone but I resorted to watching the bachelor yesterday for the second time ever. I couldn't stop watching it was like a train wreck are those girls really serious? I can't believe that show has been on has long as it has. I know a lot of people LOVE it and that is great, just don't ask me to come over and have a bachelor party ;)

I hope everyone has a fabulous day! Enjoy your fresh air :)

so thick I can taste it...

See that lovely red spot of unhealthy air the only one in the United States...

Well I just so happen to live there... The Air is horrific here!!!

It is so thick you can taste it and it's nasty!

The twins are not happy...

Here is why our air is SH!T~

Inversions occur during winter months when normal conditions (cool air above, warm air below) are inverted. Inversions trap a dense layer of cold air under a layer of warm air. They act much like a lid, trapping pollutants within the cold air near the valley floor. The Wasatch Front valleys and their surrounding mountains act much like a pot, holding the air in the valleys. The longer the inversion lasts, the stronger the pollutants concentrate within it. Visibility often deteriorates well in advance of harmful concentrations of pollutants.

To read more on the Utah inversions click here

To check out the air quality where you live click here

As for now I am on house arrest and praying for snow!! I wish I could blink my eyes and be on the beach in Maui!

Wow it's Dec..

I can't believe it is already Dec...

Am I the only one that is not prepared.... So much to do.

The Air here is crappy and seems like every where I go all I hear is coughing and sneezing. Avoiding sick people and staying healthy is hard work... I need to buy stock in Lysol, Purell, Salt (still gargling when I get home), and of course the Netti pot, Apple Cider Vinegar oh really the list is long!

I ordered some NAC yesterday it's a supplement that I take but I ordered it in a fizzy form. drop, drop, fizz, fizz!! I am excited to try it out I will keep you guys posted. NAC is also a mucolytic so the fizzy form should be awesome!

I hope everyone is enjoying the Holiday hustle and bustle and staying healthy!

Don't forget to wash those hands ;)

IT's HOT!

Primary Pollutant
Unhealthy for Sensitive GroupsAction Day
Health Message: Active children and adults, and people with lung disease, such as asthma, should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors.
Forecast Not Available
*Tomorrow's forecast is generally available by 4:15 pm EDT.

Its suppose to be in the 100's on Sat... UGH! Remember back when I was complaining about the rain well I want it back! I won't complain about that again!

Looks like I'll be chillaxin indoors for the next lil bit. I got a project idea for my front porch patio furniture. So I am excited to start that only problem is I searched the whole valley yesterday for new seat cushions. Anyone have any suggestions on where you can get some inexpensive cushions for outdoors. Being the germ a phobe that I am mildew resistant fabric would be ideal. I was thinking if I couldn't find any I would cover the ones I have with new fabric or a cute shower curtain. I'll take before and after pics....

The Sun is Shining...

It's another beautiful day out! I woke up this morning feeling great! Don't ever under estimate the power of prayer... Thank you guys for all your thoughts and prayers keep them coming for Mon. I really think the blood was from me thinking I was Tracy Anderson :) I guess I just needed a lil reality check to assure my self that I am NO Tracy Anderson!! I am still going to take it easy this weekend tho no treadmill til after the BLOW.

It is so nice out I am going to take the babies for a walk and sit outside at the bucks with a nice cup of coffee and a cupcake of course :) The particulant matter is at 19, so hopefully since its suppose to be nice out all weekend the air will cooperate.

Cara its crazy how in tune we are... Its our cysterhood working at it's finest I find the same thing with most my cysters. Sare I didn't have to stop any meds or airway clearance as per the team. However being the PP/Dr Love that I am :) I did stop my pulmicort and advair. But I started them back up this morning and knock on wood.... I am good to go!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!!

We Are In The Green!!

See what a lil rain and snow can do!!! Woop, Woop I am off of house arrest! It got so bad Friday night the visibility was horrible you could barely see the car in front of you!

I started a new serious workout regime last week. I completed it Mon and Tues and then had to stop because of the air. I was pretty shocked since I was working out inside, but I guess the particulate levels that we reached were so high that it made the carbon monoxide levels high. Needless to say it made me wheezy all day on Tues. So today I am excited to get back in the swing of things! I got a new trainer.... she happens to train Madonna too! ;) If you need a new workout go get Tracy Anderson's dvd its rockin and it's a hard one, my arms still feel like noodles and it was almost a week ago that I did it. But just think soon my arms will look like Madge's :)

Happy Monday!

Still Unhealthy...

Hopefully tomorrow we are getting a small storm and this weekend we are getting hit so my house arrest is almost up! Thank goodness I am running out of projects. Of course I could clean and do some organizing but who wants to do that... This is a pic of Downtown Salt Lake if you look closely you can see all the tall buildings in the mix of the haze. Its from the web cam off of www.airnow.gov

A great day to be on house arrest!

It's official I am on house arrest!! Yesterday was disgusting out, the particulate matter climbed to 153. If you check a couple posts back you can see that anything over 50 is UNHEALTHY! We are currently at 119 today and climbing, so I am staying inside. The pic above I took from my car window as I was driving home yesterday from the grocery store. Usually you can see the mountains in the background.

Some interesting facts on the news yesterday were;

  • Yesterday Utah had the worst air in the Nation.
  • 15 minutes outside and it is equivalent to smoking 2 packs of cigarettes. (GAG)

I am watching the Inauguration.... Wow! It's so Amazing how many people are there. I keep getting the chills.... Today is a GREAT day to make History! How great would it be to be there? However it looks cold, plus I am sure I am getting a better view on my television. This is definitely going to be a "where were you when" moment!!!!

Gramma brought over a bone... Yes one bone. I guess she forgot there is two grandpugs here but it was a rawhide and I usually don't let the babies have that. I was sitting with Oscar when I was beginning to wonder where Lilly was well I found her with the bone. I was laughing so hard it was all over her nose her nose was all white and it wouldn't come off.

Can you see all the white??? I had to scrub it off! Oscar is thinking he is glad Gramma only brought over 1 :)

This was the air I breathed today...

Unfortunately there are no storms in sight to clean out this crappy air! SLC was 114 today and it was an action day! It is only going to get worse by the end of the week that means its looking like house arrest. Maybe if I dress up in my ski gear and do a snow dance it will snow. Hmmm I'll keep you posted! You can check you air quality at www.airnow.gov
