Can't believe she is 7

Happy Birthday Lilly!!!!

Seems like just yesterday she was a lil puppy... Both my babies are 7 now until Osc turns 8 June 3rd... My lil Irish twins ;) 

Lilly is still snug as a pug in bed she loves sleeping in, she is so funny and makes me laugh all the time. The quote "The pug is proof that God has a sense of humor" is so true! Happy Birthday Lilly! Xo

Dopey~Sleepy~Lilly

Well I took Lills in for her 4th cancer surgery yesterday... When she got home she was acting a bit like some of Snow Whites lil friends.

She had 3 spots to be removed this time and I caught them all early enough that they didn't have to cut to much out, mostly just punched out the spots. So that was good news, the other good news is she was only sedated. However.....

I brought her home and she was not happy with me in fact she wanted NOTHING to do with me. My heart was so hurt I felt so bad. She was also VERY sleepy when I brought her home. Sleepier then she has ever been before even sleepier then the time she was put all the way under. Needless to say she was out of it staring at the doggy door and staring out the window, I'm guessing it would be something similar to a bad trip, not real sure but I think you get the picture she was dopey sleepy. For all those that want to witness the saddest thing ever definitely press play on these videos.

Today she loves me again and can't get enough of me. She even got jealous this morning of me spending sometime with Oscar. My Lills is back!!! So now today when I watch the videos I may or may not laugh a teeny bit. They are so sad but so funny. The poor girl would not lay down only just sit there and stare into outer space.

Nicknames


I LOVE nicknames! I think I have one for most people even if its just shortening your name. I love when I give people nicknames and then it sticks and others start calling the person by that nickname as well.

I have many nicknames;
Need, DIK, Somie, Soms, Som, BR, GSB, Sis, SIMM, Somers, Mc, Love

hmm thats all I can think of off the top of my head.

Today Lilly turns 6! She's getting so grown up. My little Lills, Baby girl, crazy, spaz, silly Lilly, (even my babies have nick names) I seriously love her so much she always makes me laugh, she's a nut. I love that she needs to be tucked in at night and if she wakes up to go potty in the middle of the night when she gets back in she sits by my bed til I wake up to go tuck her in again. It happens like twice a week she's lucky I love her ;)

She loves playing ball and is quite the ball hog she's lucky her brother loves her and puts up with her princess ways. She thinks she owns my whole lap too. She eventually shares with Osc but after I call him up he won't come up if she's there cause he knows she gets upset, it's so funny to watch.

DAMN!!! The C word is back :(

I knew it too. Why I don't just skip that step and go right to scheduling surgery is beyond me. She has two new spots they are pretty close together and again I caught them early so they can be removed with one incision rather than two. They will only have to sedate her and use a block rather then put her all the way under, which is good since she doesn't do well with anesthesia.

It really just breaks my heart but I am catching them early and she is a fighter. Her doc said she can still have a long normal life which is what I needed to hear.

I did ask him why she kept getting these mast cell tumors and he said that it was genetic, and that she just has a defective gene that causes them. It was like a light bulb went off... I told him we knew lots about defective genes and told him she might just get that one from me ;) Then I told him she is a fighter and she will indeed kick cancer's butt!

She turns 6 on Mon so I will prob schedule it after that, no one should have to have surgery around their bday.

Day 13

GOALS


I have many goals, daily goals, long term goals, and many dreams and let's not forget my bucket list. I feel all these in a way are the same. I have been fortunate to achieve some of my goals and check things off my bucket list but my lists are growing and I need to be more diligent about achieving and crossing things off.

I like achieving things at my own pace tho and am in no hurry to check everything off. Having something to look forward to is important.

I was telling my friend Kathy who is also doing this challenge on her blog you can find that here. That putting your goals out there can be lots of pressure and added stress, so I will just keep them to myself. I'll share them as I check off my list. However, I was recently asked what my goal was for my future and  responded with, I want to be an old lady with gray hair and lots of wrinkles and not use any botox :)


***I am taking Lills in today to get 2 spots looked at I am hoping she won't need another surgery but unfortunately I am getting good at spotting the mast cell tumors, I dislike them very much. So send her some good ju ju that her damn cancer has not returned. I also dislike the C word very much!

Done & Done!! Love a finished project.

~I am the proud owner of world's largest chalkboard... I have been wanting to paint a wall in my basement for quite some time now. Well I finally finished it on Sun. It looks so great! You can tint the paint to be any color I used a slate grey. I love it! I can't wait for Makena to try it out. Needless to say my back and arms are still sore! dark colors are a pain to paint!

~Lilly got her stitches out on Mon. Yay!! She is stitch free!!

~I had clinic on Mon, Pfts were about the same. I feel I am on the fence of still feeling good and a possible 2 wk stint in the joint, so for now we are just staying on top of things. I feel fine just have lots of mucus TMI I know ;) Anyways I go back in 2 wks to blow again and see where I am at.

~The UTES are on FIRE!!! We had our homecoming game last Sat we won 56 to 3 WHAT??? Were we even playing another team ?!? ;)

~I am in charge of a roundtable for CF parents night next week and am still brainstorming some ideas. I want to make my roundtable interactive any ideas for me. I def want to do something where they can put their name in a drawing for one of my paintings. I figure the best beneficial thing would be for the parents just to ask me questions so I'll do that for sure but want to do something else too...

~Seriously?!?!? Its not even Oct yet and I am seeing Christmas decorations everywhere C'mon retail world stop rushing life! Enjoy the moment! GOODNESS!! I need to start thinking of good Halloween costumes I saw this it could be a possibility. Oscar could be the taco and Lills and I could be Hot sauce or something.... well it's not set in stone ;)

~But seeing this Christmas stuff gets me brainstorming Christmas cards... I am running out of pic ideas for me and the babies... any ideas for me on this one? 

Ok well thats a lil recap of what has been going on in  my world... Been crazy busy around here but Busy is good! Hope you all are enjoying Autumn! Xo

Restless!

Lills had her surgery on Mon.

She's recovering well, she came home a lil groggy and was only mad at me for about an hour this time. I had the mass sent to the pathologist, I will get the results next week to make sure they got all the cancer. This time her surgery was on her left side last time it was on the right, 3 years ago it was on her chest. She's a Rock*!

She is doing great and is ready to play. Just one more day of taking it easy tho just to be safe. Tomorrow we will play ball! She's been walking around with the ball in her mouth all day I know she can't wait.

I hope everyone is having a great week. I can't believe it's almost Oct. I smell fall! Xo

Bummed!

Well I guess it's true what they say... A mother ALWAYS knows!

Lills has another Mast cell tumor that needs to be removed on Mon. It's smaller than the last one and I caught it early which is good. Her doc thinks he can just remove it by doing a block and sedation, meaning she doesn't have to go all the way under. It makes me so sad and breaks my heart that she has to do it all over again so soon. I hope she won't be to mad at me on Mon.

This is her eating frosty paws ice cream.... She will be getting lots of treats next week.

The vet just called and Lills' surgery was a success! There were clear margins on the biopsy! This means they got all the cancer!!! Ha Ha take that stupid cancer! Lilly is my lil ROCK *!!

Stitches come out next week and then all should be back to normal! Can't wait!

long day... with 4 really long hours

Lilly came home around 4pm. The surgery went well and the doc is hopeful for clear margins. Biopsy results come back next week and then she gets her stitches out in 2 weeks. She got her teeth cleaned too and then he also found another lil spot that he cut out so she is very sore.

She wanted nothing to do with me when I brought her home it was so sad it broke my heart...

She was so sleepy and still drugged she was fighting it bad but. 4 long hours later and 1 scrambled egg dinner she was fast asleep in my lap. She loves me again and can't get enough of me :)

We have been just taking it easy and keeping her quiet. Which is easier said then done she's a lil rock*

Look how sad she is....

She definitely knows something is up her blankey and baby doll (that Makena gave her last night so she could have it at the doc to be brave) never come in the car.

Osc has been a lil sad too without his favorite sister. He just barely ate breakfast and he hasn't left my side at all.

I was hoping they would let me scrub in to hold her paw... But no such luck. I am going to call them at 11 am to check in they are going to be so sick of me by the end of the day.

Happy Birthday Lilly! I can't believe you are 5 today... Time sure flies by. When you are having fun!

Thank you for continually making me smile and laugh! I love your kisses and love when we snuggle. I love that you follow me everywhere except when I am vacuuming. I love when you eat your food and after every bite you take you come check out what your brother and I are doing, you never want to miss out on anything ;)

I love that you can't fall asleep without one of your baby dolls and being tucked in snug as a pug! I love that you are not a morning pup... just like your mom.

She's a Genius!

I really want to buy Lilly a snuggie because she loves to burrow under all her blankets and loves to snuggle... so I thought it would be perfect for her. Oscar on the other hand doesn't like to be covered up at all. In the morning I will find Lilly under all 5 of her blankets, snug as a Pug!

This is what she has started to do with her blankets... She's a Genius! I guess I don't need to buy her a snuggie after all... gotta love that pug tail!

Happy Birthday Lills!!! 

I can't believe my baby girl is 4 years old today, they sure grow up fast. She is such a  lil sweet heart and is quite the snuggler. She is definitely the boss, poor Osc puts up with a lot he is a very good big brother. She is a lil princess!

We have a fun filled day planned... I made them a special breakfast of eggs mixed with a lil bit of their dog food. Now we are off to the dog park and then we are going on a walk with Gramma. I am sure the day will also involve lots of treats!
