So Smooth

I joined the smoothie movement!!! With some help from my friend Jess I am up and running. I didn't own a blender so after a ton of research I decided on the Ninja Master. I am pretty excited about it and it was only $34 so you can't go wrong with that.

Today I made my first one...

Above is a pic of me prepping my pitcher. The Ninja master has a motor on top that you pulse yourself and has a dual blade system one on the bottom and one in the middle to get the job done.

Im not one for recipes so I kind of just threw in some stuff, here is what I used...

~2 cups of spinach
~1 frozen banana
~5 strawberries
~1 cup of blueberries
~3 baby carrots
~1 cup of coconut milk
~1tsp of flax seed
~1tsp of Chia seeds

It was very yummy, it looks very gross but I promise so yummy and so healthy!  I am going to start doing a smoothie a day.  I had mine for breakfast today but I'm thinking it'll be more of a afternoon snack.
Does anyone have any recipes that you like to whip up? I am excited to throw more things in and try new flavors. Ill keep you posted.

I've been doing "green smoothies" for probably a year now and I agree, they are DELICIOUS! I never follow a certain recipe, I just grab whatever I happen to have in my fridge/freezer and blend it all up... with a giant handful of spinach, of course. Something I do like to add is liquid aloe. Very healthy!

Nice to see you back in the blogging world. You have been missed. :)

I usually use 1 c blueberries, a few strawberries, 1/2 c red raspberries that ive frozen (you should see my freezer full of fruit!) half a banana, yogurt, a little sugar and milk. Sometimes I use a little flax seed too. Love smoothies!

hey there! good for you- we love our green smoothies! i just throw in anything that looks like it will be going bad soon...and if i won't use the fruit in time i toss it in the freezer- even banana's to use later for smoothies. same with the spinach- if it starts looking wilty i toss it in the freezer. have fun experimenting:) oh and where did you get your blender- ours is about to die:(

I don't use a recipe either, but it's a good way to use up fruit that would otherwise go bad (sometimes I use it right away in a smoothie, sometimes I freeze it to use later).

Other things I've used: frozen mango, frozen berry mix, almond milk (one of the few nuts I'm not allergic to!), yogurt, honey, OJ, kale, apples, plums, peaches, pears -- anything I have on hand, really. I have yet to have one taste bad (though they can certainly look gross!).

I think I like the Ninja Master though -- my blender is dying a slow death from it's usage, and I'll be looking at getting a new one soon!
